Trying to Evacuate by E-Mail

The U.S Embassy is trying to help evacuate Americans out of Lebanon, but some of the people are running into problems... like this guy:

Jonathan Chakhtoura, a 19-year-old Lebanese-American student, said he registered electronically with the U.S. Embassy to be evacuated, but he has not heard back for three days, except for an e-mail acknowledging his registration. (Dallas Morning News)

It says he registered electronically to evacuate. If you were in a war zone, would you do that?
